Public Hearing
Chairman Lawrence opened the public hearing for an application by Mary Fisher for an area variance to construct a carport closer to the north property line than allowed at 5579 Edonna Drive.
Steve Fisher stated he was present to represent his wife Mary Fisher and read a letter to the board members regarding the situation with the carport that he constructed without knowing that he needed an area variance.
Steve Fisher explained that the carport is 2 feet from one property line and 1.5 feet from the other property line.
He stated that he constructed the carport with all concrete piers, which are used to anchor the posts.
Steve Fisher also presented the board members with letters from each of the neighboring property owners, which stated they had no objections to the carport or the area variance being issued.
With no further questions or comments from the public the public hearing was closed.
Regular Meeting
Chairman Lawrence opened discussion for the application by Mary Fisher for an area variance to construct a carport closer to the north property line than allowed at 5579 Edonna Drive.
Chairman Lawrence read the letter received from the county planning department, which stated the request, was technically adequate and had no state or countywide impact. It was returned for local determination.
Member Neuman made the motion to approve the area variance. Member Miller seconded the motion. With all members in favor saying “aye”, none opposed and none abstained and the motion was carried unanimous 4,0,0.
Attorney Snyder stated that this is a type 2 action under SEQR and no short environmental assessment form is needed.
